Mack was a cornerstone of Services of Hope. As the original board member, funder, visionary, and steward of the mission, he constantly reminded us to stay focused. He often asked, "Is this why we were created? Are we still on mission?" His commitment went beyond words; he believed in action—helping the less fortunate and putting faith into practice.

To Mack, faith wasn’t just spoken; it was lived. He believed that a life truly worth living is one that places faith in the hands of the Savior and extends love to others. His influence pushed me to seek not just success, but significance. Jeremiah 6:16 encapsulates his guidance:
"Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls."

A Legacy Interwoven with Services of Hope

A Celebration of His Legacy

As we come together for the 12th Annual Mack Criddell Community Christmas Event, we honor a life dedicated to helping others and shaping lives. Mack lived with purpose and left us with the reminder that tomorrow is ours to shape. As Scottish poet Alexander Smith said:
"Love is but the discovery of ourselves in others and delights in the recognition."

Mack’s life teaches us that the true measure of a life is not its duration but its donation. His legacy is one of faith, hope, and love—a beacon that continues to guide and inspire us all.

"The measure of a life, after all, is not its duration, but its donation."

“Mack Criddell was a man who shaped lives and inspired hearts wherever he went. Born in 1937 and departing this world in 2013, Mack left an indelible mark on my life and that of my family for over 30 years. I called him ‘Big Dad’—a title that embodied his roles as my father figure, hero, mentor, and friend. He truly was a life that shined, living out his Christian faith and genuine concern for others in a world often focused on self.

Mack exemplified the words of Matthew 5:16:
’Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.’

One of my fondest memories was sharing meals with Mack, where people often remarked on the bond we shared. It brought us both immense joy to be seen as embodying the father-son relationship done right. As Proverbs 27:17 says:
’As iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.’

Mack always did things ‘the Mack Way’—a way rooted in integrity, love, and purpose.”
